First Saturday Dance Workshops at Whitlock Rec Center
Our workshops are taught by experts in Denver as well as disability community members from other cities across the country. These classes are a great way for individuals of all ages and abilities to join us for accessible and immersive dance experiences while actually feeling the music through Feel the Beat’s state-of-the-art vibrating floor. Classes are held from 1-2pm every first Saturday of the month (excluding holidays) at Charles Whitlock Recreation Center in Lakewood, CO.

Easterseals Colorado, Developmental Pathways, and the Lone Tree Arts Center, are excited to host you and your family for an evening of valuable information with 30+ organizations, plus a resource fair!
Phamaly Theatre’s Big Prom Night
Join Feel the Beat and Phamaly Theatre for a night of unforgettable fun where we celebrate Phamaly's 35 years of disability-affirmative theatre! There will be a dance floor, classic prom games, prom royalty, and a puppy kissing booth.
Autism Resource Fair
Now in its 12th year, the annual Autism Resource Fair is a favorite Colorado autism community tradition. Nowhere else do so many families and individuals on the spectrum come together with the sole purpose of gathering resources and connecting with providers.
Song & Dance – through the Denver Philharmonics
Just like peanut butter and jelly, French fries and ketchup, disco and sequins, Song and Dance with the Denver Philharmonics come together in a harmonious fusion that will leave you exhilarated and moved. Featuring the dynamic choreography of Cherry Creek Dance, our exuberant season finale brings the stage to life with a symphony of movement.
Disability Pride Celebration - Clyfford Still Museum
Join Feel the Beat for the Clyfford Still Museum’s Disability Pride Celebration on July 28th! We will be hosting a Feel the Beat accessible class complete with our vibrotactile dance floor. Alongside dance, enjoy an art-making activity from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Visit and learn more about local community organizations that support and uplift people living with disabilities.
Rocky Mountain Deaf School (RMDS) Annual Deaf Festival

Colorado Movement Lab Grand Opening Event

Access Gallery Silent Disco
Join Feel the Beat for Access Gallery’s 20th Anniversary Silent Disco on February 16, 2024! Featured in our gallery is Mixtape, an exhibition featuring works by almost every artist currently working at Access Gallery and Studio. Visitors will get to explore a compilation of exciting artwork that features different themes and media.
PossABILITIES EXPO
Join Feel the Beat at the PossABILITIES EXPO on February 3, 2024! Explore a wide variety of vendors, resources and services for different abilities, including therapeutic recreation, adaptive sports, health care, funding sources, transportation and more! This event will take place at Charles Whitlock Recreation Center.
Tiny Tots Christmas on December 17th
Join us for the Tiny Tots Christmas Event on 12/17 hosted by Inside the Orchestra! Families will enjoy their favorite holiday music along with the orchestra and special guests including singalongs, musical appearances from favorite holiday characters, and traditional orchestral works alongside holiday pop favorites.
Autism Community Store & Feel the Beat Inclusive Dance Class
Join the Autism Community Store & Feel the Beat for an inclusive dance class! This 60-minute dance class is accessible to students with differing abilities and starts with a full-body warm-up, rhythmic exercise, across-the-floor movements, a rhythmic drumming exercise, learning choreography and a short cool-down.
NDEO 2023 National Conference
Join Feel the Beat at the NDEO 2023 National Conference, Teaching is Leading: Embracing Our Impact and Opportunity as Dance Educators, we invite you to explore the diverse ways you lead in the classroom, the studio, your communities, and elsewhere. Join Feel the Beat on September 16th from 10-1pm at the 2023 Walk with Autism event and help the Autism Society of Colorado fundraise as an individual or with a team.
Dull Drums Drag Bingo Fundraiser for Feel the Beat
Join us on September 8th for Dull Drums Bingo and help raise money for Feel the Beat and our mission of ensuring dance and music accessibility for ALL!
$10 donation requested to play all the games at the event. We will also be holding a chance drawing for a few baskets as well as have a few performances for you. We hope to see you there and join in the fun!
Shine Music Festival
Shine Music, a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization headquartered in Colorado, raises awareness to accessibility needs in the live music industry. Our event, the Shine Music Festival, combines the staples of a typical music festival with innovative adaptive technology to create a barrier free space for people of all abilities to share in the groove together. Join Feel the Beat this August for another great Shine Music Festival Event!
Englewood Silent Disco
Come dance the night away with Feel the Beat at the Englewood Silent Disco on August 11, 2023! This is an awesome event where you get to pick the type of music you want to dance to and listen as loud as you want! If you don’t feel like dancing then just grab a snack from a food truck, a beer from the beer garden and watch everyone else show off their moves. This will be a fun night with food, beer, MC/DJ, Dancing and hanging out with friends.
Denver Arts & Venues Cultural Runway: FashionAbility Event & Impact Day
Denver Arts & Venues continues the Cultural Runway Series on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 7pm with FashionAbility, a fashion show highlighting clothing designed with ability and disability in mind, and showcasing two very diverse designers: Lexie Bader and Rachael Levine. On Sunday, July 30, 2023, join the FashionAbility Impact Day and celebrate art, culture, fashion, accessibility and inclusivity with a silk-dyeing workshop, discussion on accessible travel, a Feel the Beat dance class designed to be accessible to Hearing, Deaf and Hard of Hearing participants and a fashion design and marketing workshop.
Highlands Street Fair
Celebrate the summer and join us for the 40th annual Highlands Street Fair! Stroll along W. 32nd Avenue between Perry and Irving and enjoy live music, food from local restaurants, great shopping and more. Best of all, the event is free! Feel the Beat staff, teachers and volunteers will be there serving food and drinks so stop by and say hi!
Dirt Coffee Dig Deep Event
Join Feel the Beat with DIRT Coffee to celebrate our community with our annual DIG Deep Block Party on Saturday, June 17, 2023! There will be games, live music, a sensory bus, drink specials, and multiple vendors selling their goods and sharing their services available throughout the day. Any proceeds that DIRT receives will help neurodivergent individuals gain access to integrated, equitable employment.
Lakewood Recreation Centers Family Health and Fitness Day
The Family Health and Fitness Day is celebrated the second Saturday in June each year by Lakewood Recreation Centers. This special day promotes the importance of parks and recreation in keeping communities healthy and active. Join Feel the Beat and Lakewood Recreation Centers for a day of fun on June 10, 2023!
Denver Art Museum's Día del Niño
Looking for other kid-friendly activities this spring? Check out the Denver Art Museum's annual Día del Niño (Day of the Child), a global celebration of all children on April 30, 2023!
