Dance That Welcomes You Exactly as You Are
What Makes Feel the Beat Different?
We make dance accessible—literally.
Dancing In ASL & More Adaptations
Every dancer deserves a space where they can move, express, and belong. At Feel the Beat, all of our classes are adaptive—designed to meet each student where they are and support their individual needs.
We teach in ASL and English, use visual descriptions, and offer modifications for physical differences so every dancer can experience the joy of movement fully. Our instructors focus on creating an environment of choice, body autonomy, and empowerment, giving each student a voice in their dance journey.
Need a little extra support? We’re happy to offer 1:1 assistance to those who benefit from it. Just reach out to info@feelthebeat.dance, and we’ll make sure you have everything you need to feel confident and included.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
You can try any class in your dancer's age group for free — no commitment required. We want your dancer to land in the class that's the best fit, so if the first one isn't quite right, just ask and we'll set up additional free trials until you find it.
-
Classes are booked directly through Feel the Beat (not a partner organization) — no membership required.
Single Class — $22/class
8-Class Pack — $20/class
16-Class Pack — $16/class
We never want financial concern to stand in the way of someone taking class, so scholarships are available for any student who needs one. There are some conditions including attendance requirements and occasional check-ins — but we'll walk you through what's needed. Just reach out to info@feelthebeat.dance to get started.
-
No specific dress code, just clothing you can move easily in (skip jeans or restrictive clothing).
A few practical notes:
At our Whitlock location, the floor can be slippery, so sticky socks or grippy shoes are a good idea if that's a concern for your dancer.
At Colorado Movement Lab, shoes aren't allowed in the studio — bare feet, socks, or dance shoes are preferred.
For safety, please skip gum and food in the classroom (choking hazard).
-
Every dancer moves and learns differently, and our instructors adapt to fit that using visual instruction support, communication cards, and hands-on guidance as needed. We also have noise-cancelling headphones and light-sensitivity glasses on hand, since lighting isn't always adjustable depending on the space and other students' needs.
If there's something specific your dancer needs that we don't already have, just let us know — we're happy to look into providing it.
-
Yes — 1:1 support is available for any dancer who needs it. Just request it before attending so we can staff the class appropriately.
-
We don't allow parent observers in the classroom, since watching from the sidelines can be distracting for students. If you'd like to stay in the room, you're welcome to as long as you're participating in class alongside your dancer, whether as their 1:1 support or just dancing with them. Either way, we'll need you to sign a waiver first, so let us know beforehand. Otherwise, you're welcome to wait just outside during class.
-
You're welcome to just show up and try a class — there's no need to schedule anything in advance for a first trial. You will fill out an intake form, and if we notice a class might not be the right fit, we'll reach out to talk through options together.
Classes are grouped by age (youth, and teen/adult) and by learning style:
Movers classes are ideal for dancers who want to explore movement through play, dance games, strengthening and balance exercises, and an introduction to creative movement. Great for newer dancers or those who benefit from a more playful, open-ended structure.
Groovers classes are for dancers ready to build technique, learn choreography, and explore a wider variety of dance styles with room to grow into more advanced movement and even performance opportunities, if that interests you.
Within any class, we can adjust for more or less complexity depending on what a dancer needs.
Teens who are able to follow group instruction independently are welcome in adult classes; teens who benefit from more individualized support are better suited to a youth class.
Honestly, there are very few reasons someone wouldn't be a good fit here — this is a space built for people who want to experience dance and music in whatever form works for them.
The two real exceptions: our floor is vibrotactile, so if vibration sensitivity makes that uncomfortable, our classes likely won't feel good for you. And if a dancer genuinely doesn't want to be there, we're not able to create an environment that works for them — this only works when someone wants to be part of it.
“Feel the Beat provides an environment where all our kids can participate in the joy of dancing regardless of physical limitations.”
